In every game my wife criticizes my character creation methods. She doesn’t like my facial choices, body types, or color options. Guild wars 2 is no exception. In nearly every game I prefer to play a human, and looks never really factor in for me as I will most likely be wearing a helmet and armor to cover everything anyway. This game a play a Norn which is as close to human as I could get, without being explicitly human. Part of the issue is the speed in which I create the avatar. While I do avoid the random generator, I do tend to speed through everything else to get into the game and play faster. My wife, on the other hand, tends to take quite a bit longer.
I can’t fault someone for wanting to make their character aesthetically pleasing to them. However, when 95% of your character is covered with armor, helmets, weapons and other things, does it really matter?
