This is what the Intel Officer was reading. No wonder Malgus is out.
I know some people were a little wary of Bioware introducing combat logs to swtor. Putting these in prompted the worry that guilds would start discriminating against people that didn’t meet the numbers, or those that weren’t leet enough to make the cut.
Now, I haven’t run into the number crunching game, myself. But there are different ways for people to make decisions on your character’s effectiveness. Namely, simply inspecting your gear. While gear says very little for your actual playing skill, it does give a hint towards your overall combat effectiveness.
Case in point: Last night my guild and I were running EC HM 8-man. We needed another tank. We did have a volunteer, unfortunately that volunteer was in Tionese gear. This, again, did not reflect his ability as a tank, but what his effectiveness would be in staying alive, and mitigating damage. He was turned away, and to his credit was not upset.
Due, in part, to this player’s maturity and understanding, the guild will be making an effort to run him through instances with the goal of gearing him to the level he needs.
Have you run into anybody using the combat logs?
If you have used them, what is your experience?
